Gay marriage and Selfish politicians
David Cameron is taking a sensible lead in supporting gay marriage, one that many would not have expected from a Conservative Prime Minister. Our society has moved on so quickly and so sensibly that the homophobia of old really has been discarded to history where it belongs.
What has not been discarded however is the lust for power that prevails in some elected members. And it is this lust that is making some speak against the Prime Minister. They are concerned that the proposals will alienate party activists, and by logical extension reduce the number of people pushing leaflets through doors at election time, thus reducing the chances of winning at the next election.
These decisions are therefore being made based on selfish interest rather than on the basis of what is right and proper in a mature, all-embracing Britain.
Shame on them!
